Getting Started with the REX + APLYiD Integration

How to set up the REX + APLYiD integration: adding the APLYiD embedded page in REX, sending us your REX Account ID, and what to expect once it is live.

The REX integration let's you start an APLYiD verification case straight from a Contact, Property or Listing record in REX, with no manual data entry and no separate login.

Opening the APLYiD panel on a record automatically creates a case for that record's current contact or property owner, and you will see a simple result message in the panel itself, either confirming the case was created or letting you know a case already exists.

This guide is for your REX administrator. It covers what you need before you start, and the two things we need from you to finish setup: adding our embedded page inside REX, and sending us your REX Account ID.

Note: REX's help centre also lists an older, separate APLYiD integration that was built by REX. That earlier integration connects to a previous APLYiD system that is being retired, and it is not the same as the integration described here. If your agency already has that earlier integration configured, please contact your APLYiD representative before setting this one up, so we can help you coordinate the switch.

Before you start

  • This integration relies on a REX feature called Embedded Apps. Embedded Apps is generally only available on the REX Enterprise plan, however REX will turn it on for any agency setting up the APLYiD integration, whatever plan you are on. To get it enabled, contact REX Support and let them know you are setting up the APLYiD integration, which uses Embedded Apps, and that you need Embedded Apps turned on for your account.

  • You need to be an administrator in REX to add a new Embedded App.

  • You need the APLYiD embed URL we provide (see Step 1) and your REX Account ID (see Step 2). Both are one off setup items.

Step 1: Add the APLYiD embedded page in REX

In REX, go to Settings > Embedded Apps. This page lists every Embedded App configured for your agency.

Settings > Embedded Apps in REX, listing every configured app for your agency.

Create a new Embedded App, then set it up as follows:

  1. Paste in the APLYiD embed URL exactly as we have provided it to you. It contains REX merge tags, which REX fills in automatically each time the page loads.

  2. For embed type, select Record Tab.

  3. Under record types, tick all three: Listings, Properties and Contacts.

  4. Set width to 640 and height to 470. These are our recommended dimensions and they fit the panel nicely without extra scrolling.

  5. Save the Embedded App configuration.

Ticking all three record types makes sure the APLYiD panel is available on every record type APLYiD needs to check.

The Embedded App configuration fields: name, app url to embed, embed type, size and record types.

Your embed URL, provided by APLYiD:

https://api.workflow.aplyid.com/integrations/rex/embed?account_id={{account_id}}&record_id={{record_id}}&token={{token}}

Important: always paste exactly what your APLYiD contact sends you, in case the value provided for your account differs from the one shown above.

Note: some agencies are onboarded a different way, with APLYiD (or REX, on APLYiD's behalf) configuring this embedded app for you rather than you doing it yourself. If we have told you this step is already done for your account, please skip ahead to Step 2.

Step 2: Send APLYiD your REX Account ID

You can find this yourself in REX under Settings > Agency Settings & Branding. It appears as Your Agency ID near the top of the page, on the Account Sharing tab.

Your Agency ID, shown on Settings > Agency Settings & Branding.

If you cannot see it there, ask your REX account manager or REX Support for "our agency's Account ID".

Send that ID to your APLYiD contact, along with your agency name as it appears in REX. We will confirm once it has been registered on our side, and after that the integration is live with nothing further needed from you.

What to expect once it is live

  • The first time you open the APLYiD panel on a record, a new verification case is created and you will see a confirmation message with the case number.

  • If you open the panel again on the same record, the integration recognises the existing case rather than creating a duplicate, and you will see a message saying a case already exists. This also applies once a Property has been converted into a Listing in REX.

  • If a record is missing information APLYiD needs, for example a property with no current owner recorded in REX, you will see a plain language message explaining what is missing rather than a technical error.

Need help?

If the embedded page does not load, shows an unexpected error, or you are not sure whether setup completed successfully, please get in touch with your APLYiD Support Team ([email protected]). To help us look into it, let us know:

  • The REX record you tried it on

  • Roughly when you tried it

That is enough for our team to look up what happened.
