During a remote verification, the ID verification scans your client's ID document to capture their identity details, plus their residential address and a live selfie to confirm they match the document photo.
What we capture from the ID document
When your client scans an accepted ID document (for example, a driver's licence or passport), Workflow reads the document and extracts:
First name
Middle name (if the document has one)
Last name
Date of birth
Document expiry date
ID number
Card number
Residential address
Your client's residential address is also captured as part of the check if it is shown, otherwise, they will need to put this in manually.
Confirming the details are correct
Before the check is submitted, your client sees a Check your ID details screen showing everything the ID check read from their document. They can confirm the details are correct, or go edit if something's been misread — this is their chance to catch a mismatched name, date, or number before it causes the check to fail.
The liveness check
For a remote verification, Workflow also asks your client to complete a short facial liveness check — a selfie or brief video — to confirm the person completing the check matches the photo on their ID document. In-person checks skip this step, because your physical presence with the client substitutes for it.
