APLY Academy: AML Training Modules

This article explains what the APLY Academy covers and its usefulness for your whole team.

APLY Academy is APLYiD's built-in AML/CTF training platform. Team members are all given Single Sign on (SSO) access once they have their own APLYiD Account. You can invite them through the Settings > Team section. Additionally, the APLYiD Resource Centre is available for guides and how-to materials, complementing the training provided by APLY Academy.

Once you login to the APLY Academy for the first time, you will be auto-assigned all of the relevant training you need to complete based on your role.

For admins, you can track which team members have completed training.

Finding APLY Academy

  1. Log in to your Workflow account.

  2. Click APLY Academy in the left-hand navigation menu.

  3. Navigate to Academy > Live Learning to register for webinars and join sessions from your own device. These webinars introduce the platform, its functionality, and key features for new users.

  4. You will see a list of available training modules and their completion status.

  5. Use Learning Journeys for training, Live Learning for APLYiD Product Training, and the Catalogue for on-demand up-skilling.

Which modules are mandatory?

Mandatory modules are auto-assigned under Learning Journey's in the APLY Academy. These cover core AML/CTF obligations under the AUSTRAC Tranche 2 reforms. Optional modules provide additional guidance on topics such as risk assessment and KYB checks and are available in the catalogue section. Only the My Learning courses are mandatory, while Live Learning sessions are optional but recommended for a deeper understanding of the platform.

Does the 1 July 2026 deadline apply to training?

AUSTRAC requires that staff involved in AML/CTF compliance are adequately trained before obligations commence. We recommend all team members complete the mandatory modules before 1 July 2026. Training completion is recorded in the register and can be produced as evidence of your compliance programme.
